The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo
The Q Revo is an excellent option if you're looking for a robot mop and vacuum that's middle-of-the-road. It provides a fantastic mopping experience, but doesn't have the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.
In tests, it was able to take on dry oats and dust on carpets with medium piles as well as pet hair on hard floors. It doesn't use LIDAR however, as cheaper models do, to identify your home.
Roomba s9+ iRobot from iRobot
The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the most highly-rated robots. It has impressive cleaning power and plenty of features, including an automatic dirt bin built into its charging base. This robot can also learn your habits of cleaning and suggest automatic schedules to provide a hands-free and effortless experience.
Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the procedure. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning process at the push of the button. You can choose a general clean which focuses on the elimination of larger pieces of debris like cereal and rice. Or you can choose two mappings to ensure that your home is cleaned thoroughly.
This robot vacuum is effective on both bare floors and carpets with low pile. It is able to take large objects and does not lose suction as fast as some others do, and it can even pick up pet hair without difficulty. It does have a hard time with high-pile or plush carpet, but iRobot claims it will get better with future models.
The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that is focused on enhancing edge and corner cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that adopts an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into walls and furniture. It's a step up from the hockey puck-shaped robovacs which are widely used, but we found it to be only marginally better than circular models.
iRobot also claims the S9+ has an advanced filter system that prevents tiny dust particles and allergens from recirculating within your home. It's a nice claim, however, we're not convinced that it's enough to justify the price cost.
Its smart navigation system utilizes sensors to store the arrangement of your home and vSLAM for mapping the interior of your home. This allows it to avoid obstacles, such as staircases and other barriers, and to clean up your entire house in the most efficient way possible. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, and create virtual boundary markers, so that it knows to avoid areas that need extra attention.
2. Roborock Q Revo
Roborock Q Revo is a robot that combines vacuuming and mopping. Its vacuum settings are just as effective as those found on more expensive models. Its mopping system is superior because its spinning pads scrub your floors much more efficiently than the vibrating pads.
It's only downside is the lack of a second brush to allow for more thorough cleaning. However, that's not a major issue when you're looking to purchase one of the top robots on the market. The robo-vac's dust tank is also larger than many of its competitors and takes only two or three cycles to fill it up, even with the highest dirt level.
As for the mopping device, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub hard-to-clean dirt from my floors. The two mopping modes that it has that are less abrasive than the higher-powered ones generate minimal noise, allowing you to work or watch TV without distraction. If it comes into contact with a wall or piece of furniture it gently smacks into it and then moves along.
The Q Revo is unique in that it can run almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The dock of the robo-vac can be multi-functional and automatically transfers garbage into a bin hidden. It also cleans and dries the clean water tank. The app will only alert you if something is wrong for example, the water tank being empty or a cancelled vacuuming session due to a full bin.
You can also create and merge rooms to modify the way that Q Revo manages your home. This is an excellent feature to have if you have several areas of your home with different flooring materials or there's a lot of clutter that needs to be cleaned out regularly, such as clothes, toys, and books. The robo-vac is also very efficient and was among the top performers during my tests, taking debris from carpets as well as hardwoods in its first run. It is able to even clean up spills that are wet however I would recommend cleaning them off with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot in.
3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum combo that comes with all the features you can need. It comes with the ability to rotate mops and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It's similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also comes with an auto-cleaning base station that automatically cleans and empty mop pads, keeping them clean and ready for use again. It also has a sensor system that can detect obstacles better and prevents it from falling on furniture and other objects.
The biggest improvement over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this version is sleeker and more modern design due to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for Bang & Olufsen products). The robot is still large--it is more than two feet in the height and depth and weighs nearly four pounds. However the robot and its base are smaller than the Roborock Q Revo or iRobot j7.
This version is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and can clean 1,500 square feet in one charge. It also comes with a larger and more durable dustbin that can hold more debris. This makes it easier to empty.
The X2 Omni also has a more natural voice assistant as well as an app that can be used even when you're at home. It also comes with more mopping options and an intelligent routing feature which allows it to clean specific rooms or areas of your home instead of just following a set route.
The X2 Omni is the top robot at mopping. Its rotating mop pads remove tough stains and its motor generates plenty of downward pressure. Its vacuuming capabilities are excellent as well and it enhances suction when it detects carpet to ensure it's doing a thorough job. It also has a massive battery that can last for weeks between charges and its mopping mode is as effective as anything we've seen in the market for a consumer robot.
4. Dreametech L10s Ultra
The Dreametech L10s Ultra is a high-end mop and robot vacuum that comes with a range of convenience features you aren't likely to find on robots at this price range. It is able to create detailed floor maps and identify different types of flooring. It's also among the few robots that can automatically clean and dry its mop pad. These features are great, but they also make the L10s more of a premium category. This could mean it's more expensive than what homeowners would need.
Designed to resemble a modern floor cleaner The L10s Ultra is a tall and slim machine with an elegant white finish that's enhanced by mirror plating and silver elements. The front of the machine is dominated by a large bumper, which protects furniture and vacuum cleaners from damage while moving through the house. Sensors are hidden behind the front panel, which help the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.
On the top of the vacuum there is a single button that acts as an on/off switch. Pressing this will activate the vacuum, while clicking it again will turn off the vacuum and return robot vacuum and mop it to its base station. The center of the control panel is an oblique menu that lets you choose cleaning modes or schedules, as well as preferences. The left and right buttons below the screen will open up the app's settings menu where you can tweak the way that the L10s Ultra integrates with your home.
Similar to the iRobot Roomba S9+ and Roborock Q Revo, the L10s Ultra uses a combination of LIDAR and camera-based navigation technologies to map out your house. This produces a precise floor plan that enables the robot vacuum and mop with ease, without getting stuck in cluttered areas. The LIDAR also helps the robot vacuum to recognize and avoid obstacles which is a great feature for families with children or pets.
The L10s Ultra offers solid vacuuming performance that clears 98.4% of debris from our hard-floor test and taking out all but the most difficult juice stain. Its mops also perform well and remove 98.4 percent of debris from our carpet, tile and wood tests. However, it wasn't quite as effective in removing sand from the floor or quaker oats on the carpet.
